On 15-11-2024 the Department of Management Studies organized “One Day Program on Marketing”. The resource person was Dr. Manoj A.S., the Head of Learning and Development at the Kerala Development and Innovation Strategic Council (K-DISC), Govt. of India. The event took place at the Imperial Hall and began with an engaging set of activities designed to involve student’s right from the start. These activities were not only fun but also highly informative, providing an interactive way for students to learn about key marketing concepts. Dr. Manoj skilfully used these exercises to illustrate the practical application of marketing strategies, which made the learning experience both enjoyable and educational.
After a break for lunch, the students were divided into more than five groups, each comprising a small team of participants. Each group was given four chart papers and tasked with developing a comprehensive marketing plan for a fictional product. The students had to define various aspects of their product, such as the product type, name, place, price, and promotional strategies. This activity encouraged creativity and teamwork, as each group worked together to come up with a product concept and create a marketing strategy around it.
Once the groups completed their presentations, each group presented their product and marketing strategy to the entire audience. This exercise helped students understand the importance of planning and strategizing in marketing, as well as the significance of communication and teamwork. The session was both fun and educational, leaving students with a deeper understanding of marketing principles and their real-world applications. It was a productive and memorable day for all participants.
