SAHAR 2024 – a Technical Extravaganza

Science and Humanities Association of ROHINI, SAHAR 2024, the highly anticipated event held on 3 June 2024, featured the renowned motivational speaker I.Jegan.

The event aimed to inspire and motivate first-year engineering students from various backgrounds, providing them with insights and strategies to achieve personal and professional success.

I. Jegan is a distinguished motivational speaker known for his engaging and dynamic speaking style. With almost 19 years of experience delivering motivational talks, Jegan has inspired countless individuals to overcome challenges and pursue their goals with determination and resilience. His speeches are characterized by a blend of personal anecdotes, practical advice, and an infectious enthusiasm that leaves a lasting impact on his audience.


   The event commenced with a welcome and then the presidential address by the principal of RCET, Dr.R. Rajesh, who introduced the theme of SAHAR 2024 and highlighted the significance of having I. Jegan as the guest speaker.

The meritorious students of first year were appreciated and awarded for being the academic toppers by the guest of the day.

 

 I. Jegan delivered an inspiring keynote speech focusing the theme “Be a Winner.” He shared his personal journey of overcoming obstacles and emphasized the importance of perseverance, self-belief, and continuous learning.


   Key points from the speech included The significance of values and relationships, the power of a positive mindset in achieving success, Strategies for setting and attaining meaningful goals, overcoming fear and embracing failure as a stepping stone to success, and the importance of resilience and adaptability in a rapidly changing world.


 


 Following the keynote speech, there was an interactive feedback session where attendees got the opportunity to share their experiences and take homes of the session. The session provided deeper insights into the topics discussed and allowed for personalized advice from the speaker.

 The event not only inspired and motivated the attendees but also provided them with valuable insights and strategies to navigate their paths to success.

Post-lunch was the time for competitions. First-year engineering students from various colleges in and around Kanyakumari District contested for Paper presentation, Idea presentation, Poster presentation, Project EXPO, Nail Art, Photography, and Art from Waste.
   The event provided an opportunity for the attendees to connect with like-minded individuals, share experiences, and form valuable professional relationships.

   The event concluded with the cultural programs of the talented RCET budding Engineers. Prizes were distributed to the winners of the competitions by the Principal and HoDs of RCET.

The feedback from attendees from other colleges was overwhelmingly positive. Many participants expressed that I. Jegan’s speech was motivating and actionable, providing them with new perspectives and practical tools to implement in their personal and professional lives. The event succeeded in fostering a sense of community and empowerment among attendees, aligning with the core mission of SAHAR 2024.
