World Environment Day Awareness Programme Conducted at Rohini College of Engineering and Technology

To commemorate World Environment Day, an environmental awareness programme was organized for students at Rohini College of Engineering and Technology on 05-06-2026. The event was presided over by the Chairman of the College, Mr. K. Neela Marthandan, Vice-Chairman Dr. N. Neelavishnu, Managing Director Dr. V. M. Blessy Jijo, and Principal Dr. Rajesh.

Addressing the gathering, Vice-Principal Mr. Jayakumar and Head of the Department of Agricultural Engineering, Dr. Prince Sagaya Sudarshan, emphasized the importance of environmental conservation and sustainable living practices. They educated students about the harmful effects of plastic usage and improper disposal of electronic waste, while highlighting the significance of tree planting, recycling, and responsible resource management.

As part of the programme, medicinal plant saplings were planted across the college campus to promote environmental sustainability and ecological awareness among students.

The event was jointly organized by the faculty members of the Departments of Chemistry and Agricultural Engineering. Students actively participated in the programme and pledged to contribute towards protecting and preserving the environment.
