The Department of Chemistry at RCET, in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture Engineering, celebrated World Environmental Day on 4 June , 2023, with a meaningful initiative. The event witnessed the planting of 75 saplings within the campus premises, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to environmental conservation and sustainability.

World Environmental Day serves as a global reminder of the importance of preserving our natural resources and taking collective actions to address environmental challenges. The collaborative effort demonstrated the unity of purpose in fostering a greener and healthier environment.The sapling plantation activity aimed to make a tangible contribution to the environment while fostering a sense of responsibility and awareness among the students. By planting 75 saplings, the participants actively participated in the noble cause of reforestation and ecological balance.

We believe that even small actions can have a significant impact on the environment, and Planting saplings not only beautifies our campus but also contributes to the larger goal of sustaining our planet.

The event provided students with hands-on experience in planting, nurturing, and caring for saplings. The process allowed them to connect with nature and gain a deeper understanding of the importance of trees in maintaining ecological equilibrium. As the saplings were carefully placed into the soil, students carried with them a sense of accomplishment and a stronger connection to nature.

World Environmental Day offered us an opportunity to get together and take concrete steps towards a more sustainable future. Planting saplings is a tangible way to contribute.
