The Department of Chemistry , Rohini College of Engineering and Technology (RCET) organised World Environment Day on June 5, 2024 with a series of environmentally-focused activities, including the plantation of saplings in the RCET Agri Garden and a guest lecture by Dr. S.Adish Kumar, Professor and Head of the Department of Civil Engineering at Anna University Regional Campus, Tirunelveli.

The celebration kicked off with a sapling plantation event at the RCET Agri Garden, where students, faculty, and staff participated in planting a variety of saplings. This initiative aimed to promote green practices and raise awareness about the importance of tree planting and environmental conservation. The saplings planted will contribute to the biodiversity of the campus and provide a lasting green legacy for future generations.

Dr. S.Adish Kumar, a renowned expert in Civil Engineering and Environmental studies delivered a guest lecture following the plantation event.
