First-year Agricultural Engineering students of RCET visited the State Horticulture Farm in Pechipparai on 14 June 2024. This visit aimed to provide students with practical insights into horticultural practices and agricultural innovations.
The State Horticulture Farm at Pechipparai is known for its extensive research and development in horticulture, including the cultivation of various fruits, vegetables, and ornamental plants. During the visit, students were guided through different sections of the farm, where they learned about advanced horticultural techniques, plant propagation methods, and sustainable farming practices.
The students had the opportunity to observe and participate in various activities, such as grafting, pruning, and soil management. This hands-on experience allowed them to apply their classroom knowledge in a real-world setting, enhancing their understanding of the principles and practices of horticulture.
The visit was organized under the guidance of Mr. N. Arunpandian, Assistant Professor Department of Agricultural Engineering, RCET, who provided valuable insights and explanations throughout the tour. His expertise and mentorship greatly enriched the students’ learning experience.
Expressing their gratitude, the students and faculty members thanked the management and Principal for their support and for granting permission to organize this educational visit. “This visit has been incredibly informative and exciting for our students,” stated Mrs. G. Pravena, Assistant Professor / Mathematics, class advisor of 1st year Agricultural Engineering and Mrs. S. Muthammal, Assistant Professor / Mathematics who accompanied the team.
