Guest Lecture: “Unlocking Engineering Careers: Trends, Skills, and Opportunities.”

On February 19th, 2025, the ISTE chapter of Rohini College of Engineering and Technology organized a guest lecture on “Unlocking Engineering Careers: Trends, Skills, and Opportunities” for third-year Mechanical Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering students. The session was delivered by Squadron Leader Anurag Singh, Senior Radar Maintenance Officer at Air Force Station Thiruvananthapuram. He provided students with valuable insights into the evolving landscape of engineering within the defense sector.

The lecture covered key industry trends such as aerospace technology, automation, artificial intelligence, sustainability, and cybersecurity in the Air Force. Squadron Leader Singh emphasized the essential skills required for engineers, including technical proficiency, problem-solving, critical thinking, and adaptability. He also discussed various career opportunities within the Air Force, such as avionics, aeronautical engineering, drone technology, and defense systems development.
