Department of Science and Humanities celebrated its association day SAHAR 2020 from 3rd June `20 to 6th `20 through Zoom Cloud App.
With the blessings of the founder chairman Shri. K. Neela Marthandan, Managing Director Dr. N.Neela Vishnu and Chief Financial Officer Dr Blessy Geo of RCET inaugurated this function. SAHAR convener Prof T.S Varatharajan delivered the welcome address, Our Principal Dr. R. Rajesh gave a presidential address. Dr. V.S Mathu Suresh, HOD, Science and Humanities gave a brief talk about the activities of SAHAR. Nearly 30 first year students presented papers on topics like Industries 5.0, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, and Sustainability. Prof M. Abima proposed vote of thanks.
On the first day, Department of Mathematics organized two webinar sessions on the topics “Mathematical Models in Bio-Medical Applications” by the Resource Person Dr. D. Nagarajan, Prof /Head , Hindustan Institute of Technology and Technology and “Hands on Training session How to Generate E-Certificate” by Dr. N. Senthil Velmurugan, Asso. Prof/ RCET. More than 300 participants attended these sessions from all over India
The following day Department of Physics conducted a webinar on the topic “Testing and Characterization of Materials” by Mr. G. Swaminathan, Research Scholar, IIT Madras.
On fifth June, Department of Chemistry celebrated “World Environment Day” along with the celebration of SAHAR. Environment Awareness Quiz was conducted through online, more than 500 participants answered these questions and got the E-Certificate. A special webinar was organized to celebrate Environment Day on the topic “Global Warming and Its Impact on the Society”. Chemistry faculty members also organized a webinar on “Biotransformation of Organic Compounds” by Dr. S. Nagarajan, Dean, Students’ Welfare, Central University of Tamil Nadu.
On the fourth day, English department faculty members organized a webinar on “The Pedagogical Innovations of 21st Century” by Dr. S. Sivasubramanian, former Vice Chancellor, Bharathiyar University. There was a great response from the faculty members, research scholars and students from various colleges and universities all over India and foreign countries .
S&H department also conducted E-Quiz on all the basic Science subjects, English and General Knowledge. There was an overwhelming response from our college students and from various colleges all over India and abroad. E-certificate was also given for the winners. Selfie Contest was also conducted under the theme “Home Garden” in the view to encourage the student to spend their quarantine fruitfully.
