Department of Civil Engineering organised SPECTRA 2K22 at Rohini College of Engineering and Technology in Paulkulam, Kanyakumari, on Friday, September 19, 2022. The chairman, Shri. Neela Marthandan, the Pro Chairman Dr. N. Neela Vishnu, the managing director Dr. Blessy Geo, and the principal, Dr. R. Rajesh, presided over the function. The programme was coordinated by Mr. Rajiv Gandhi, Assistant Professor, Civil Department. Dr. J. Sahaya Ruben (HOD Department of Civil Engineering) inaugurated the programme. Ms. S. Meera Rakshana (IV year civil) gave the welcome speech, and M. Alfina (3rd year) introduced the chief guest. “Future journeys will be designed based on the path you choose today”, said by ‘Lion Er.P. Justin Paul, a real estate valuation expert, former District Governor, Charter Chairman, and Association of Consulting Civil Engineers (India), was the inauguration’s chief guest, and he shared his own experience as well as a recent job opportunity in the civil field. It was a wonderful experience for our students to get information about the civil industries for their future jobs.
The chief guest also inaugurated the association members of civil departments for the academic year 2022-2023. The RCET management provides a platform for civil engineering students to explore their talents through Project Expo. The number of the project was kept in the event which was done by the student.
The following are the events that were organised as part of the Spectra: The technical events such as paper presentations, CAD modeling, technical quizzes, poster presentations, connections, and games for inter-college students such as team work, landing pads, CD topper, spell-bee, guess the food and the cultural program also conducted. During the valedictory ceremony, the principal awarded prizes and certificates to the winners. The event is hosted by Mr. Akram Khan, A.R., and Ms. Rizwana, final year. Finally, Ms. Thanga Selvi (final year) gave a vote of thanks to the management, the principal, the HOD, the faculties, the non-teaching staff, the student coordinators, and all the students who worked hard to make this event a success.
