World Telecommunication Day was celebrated by The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) chapter in the department of Electronics and Communication Engineering  on 24/5/2024. The chief guest is Dr.S.Arumuga perumal, Director, Riyasaa labs and Distinguished Professor of Computer Science and Research, Crown university Intl charted inc., USA. The ceremony commenced with the lighting the lamp by dignitaries, symbolizing the illumination of knowledge and wisdom as the event unfolded. Arthi student of second year ECE, extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries and all the participants, setting a tone of warmth and inclusivity for the event. The Principal Dr.R.Rajesh delivered a presidential address, emphasizing the significance of World Telecommunication Day and its role in advancing communication technologies. The esteemed Chief Guest Dr.S.Arumuga perumal was honored by the Vice Principal recognizing their invaluable presence and contribution to the celebration of World Telecommunication Day.    Dr. R. Sowmiya, Faculty Advisor of the IETE Chapter, introduced the Chief Guest, providing an overview of their accomplishments and expertise in the field of telecommunications. The Chief Guest shared insightful perspectives on the opportunities presented by Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). They elaborated on how these technologies are shaping the future and offered guidance on career development in alignment with emerging trends. The event concluded with a vote of thanks extended to all the dignitaries, participants, and organizers for their valuable contributions toward making the World Telecommunication Day celebration a success. Panel discussion was conducted among students, fostering an exchange of ideas and insights on various aspects of telecommunications and related technologies.
